Artwork that stitches well
A few rules make the difference between a crisp logo and a blur of thread.
- Send a vector file (AI, EPS, SVG, PDF) or a large PNG with a transparent background.
- Keep lettering at least 1/4 inch tall: smaller text fills in with thread.
- Fewer thread colors stitch cleaner and faster.
- Hairlines, tiny symbols and gradients are worth simplifying before you order.

Is there a minimum order for custom hats?
No minimum on five styles: the classic dad hat, the trucker hat, the five-panel trucker and both youth caps, so a single cap is a real order. Other styles start at 6, 12 or 30 pieces, and the minimum is shown on every card.
How fast can you embroider hats?
The classic dad hat and the trucker hat can be embroidered the same business day: order by 1 PM and choose Same Day at checkout. Most other styles take 2 to 4 business days and a few take longer; every card shows the fastest speed. Shipping or delivery time comes on top.
How much do custom embroidered hats cost?
From $11.80 for the classic dad hat and $14.80 for the trucker hat, embroidered on the front. Order 20 or more of one style and the price drops by 10%, 50 or more by 17%, 100 or more by 25%. The cart applies the discount by itself.
What artwork do you need?
A vector file (AI, EPS, SVG or PDF) is best, and a large PNG with a transparent background works too. Not sure your file will stitch well? Send what you have and our designers will prepare it for embroidery at no extra cost.
How big can the embroidery be?
On the classic dad hat the front area is about 4 1/2 by 2 1/4 inches. Keep lettering at least 1/4 inch tall so it stays readable in thread, and simplify hairlines and tiny details.
Can I pick up my hats in New York?
Yes, from our shop in Long Island City, 43-01 21st St, Unit 211B; we text you when the order is ready. A courier across New York, New Jersey and Connecticut costs $44, and we ship anywhere in the US.
Do you embroider or print hats?
Embroidery is what we recommend for hats: stitches sit well on curved crowns, structured fronts and mesh, and they outlast a print. Our guide on embroidery vs printing on hats explains the difference.
